STYLING BAND TEES

I am definitely a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I love comfortable, everyday clothes, but my style also has a little bit of edge. A classic (I feel like band tees will never go out of style) way to give a little bit of edge to your jeans and cute shoes is adding a graphic or band tee. Go for something super comfy and you will get years of use out of it (I have one I am wearing in some of the photos that I have had for 8 years!). My favorite way to wear them is with ripped jeans and cute boots, no accessories, but you can definitely dress them up or down however you want! Some good places to buy them: Nordstrom Rack, Amazon (just type in band tee), Target (in their t-shirt section) and Forever21. Another option, if you have patience and like searching for them, would be thrift stores. Also, my brother sells vintage clothing so check out his Instagram if you like vintage band tees! His name is @papabearvintage :) I linked a handful of shirts that are under $20, hope you guys enjoy!

Must-have affordable basic: solid, light cardigans

Hi guys :) I wanted to share one of my favorite layering pieces with you. I love having solid basic pieces like these cardigans that you can layer with a sold tank or t-shirt, ripped jeans and a fun necklace from Forever21 and it makes you look like you put some effort into getting ready. I honestly think 90% of my wardrobe is literally solid colored, but I just think it makes it sooooo easy to be able to wear each item 100x. When I am buying clothes I like to picture myself wearing each thing with a handful of different outfits, that way I know it is going to be a good purchase and that I will actually wear it! I hate wearing the same outfit over and over, but I LOVE when I can wear the same piece over and over, but in a totally different way. My favorite place to buy sweaters like this is definitely Forever 21. Make sure you keep an eye out for when they have their additional 50% off clearance sale (thats where I got all of mine and they each ended up being literally under $6!). If you stick to neutral colors you can't go wrong!

Dining room table and chairs

I am a huge bargain shopper, but for me at least, I think an important piece to invest a little in is your dining room table. We saved up for this shortly after we got married and it is probably my favorite piece of furniture in our house. I highly recommend checking out World Market (where we got ours) because they have really great prices for really unique and high quality tables. Also, they always have 25% coupons if you sign up for their email list (what we did for our whole set). Since our house is pretty masculine with all of the dark woodwork, I wanted something that matched, but instead of doing an industrial style farmhouse table I wanted something a little more "feminine"...not sure if that is the right word, but the details of the legs is what I am referring to :) I LOVE how much of a statement the legs make and it also has two leaves that you can add to either end (which I plan on doing as soon as we get a few more chairs.) I couldn't find my exact table and chairs, but I picked out some really cool ones that are reasonably priced for how beautiful they are. And remember, you don't have to buy everything at once! We bought two chairs at a time and still haven't gotten around to getting anymore. I love the look of light linen covers over chairs, so I figured it you have some ugly chairs around you can always add the covers below to them! I also love topiaries and lanterns on top of the tables, so I picked out some cute affordable accessories to decorate around the table area as well. I love getting inspiration from photos so make sure you check out my Pinterest account if you haven't already because I have a bunch of really cool pictures with my similar style of home decor on it. Thanks for following along :)

NEUTRAL BOOTIES FOR SPRING

I love boots during any season and I think they are such a cute way to dress up jeans with a little bit of a heel. Like usual, I like to stick with solid colors that don't look cheap. Pay attention to the heel of the boot because that's usually a dead ringer that your boot actually was "cheap". Target and Nordstrom Rack are always my go-to for finding good boots that are under $50 and will actually last you a few years. I posted a few outfit ideas to show you guys how I styled mine. This is the main reason why I love simple pieces and neutral colors because you can put the same boots with a different solid colored t-shirt and a different necklace and it looks like a totally different outfit. I posted a few super cute and affordable boots that I think you guys will love below and I think they all would be really good spring/summer shoes for those of you who are into booties in the summer ;) ! I am more of a picture person myself, so I like to keep these posts short and sweet, but I hope you guys enjoyed it! :) Also, Nordstrom Rack is having their clear the rack sale right now (additional 25% off of clearance) and Target is doing buy one get one 50% off on shoes so it is the perfect time :)

DIY ROSE EMBROIDERED GRAPHIC SWEATSHIRT

Hey guys, I thought I would share an easy and affordable way to achieve that embroidery trend. It is soooo easy and sometimes I think you can start to look a little cheap with DIY clothing items, but this one is really basic and I honestly think it looks like you bought it this way! I wanted to pick a piece of clothing in my closet that I already had to keep it even more affordable. Make sure whatever you are choosing is something that you love the fit of--I think this is really important because if you don't like the piece plain, I don't think you will wear it that often with the rose detail. I really want to do this to a pair of jean shorts or just jean pants too. Like usual, I will include some ready to purchase options for those of you who don't do DIY!

 What you need:

  • Plain item of clothing (I used a comfy grey men's sweatshirt, but I think a plain white tee or black denim shorts would look super cute!)
  • Iron-on patches (I got mine from Amazon, I just searched "Iron-on rose patches" and found these http://tinyurl.com/n7m63lt )
  • Iron and Ironing board (Duh...but I felt like I really had to be thorough just in case)
Instructions:
  1. Test it out (VERY IMPORTANT): Try on the sweatshirt in a mirror and put a piece of tape on the backs of the patches and really make sure you like the placement and that it is even.
  2. Put the sweatshirt around the ironing board and iron on each patch (as stupid as this sounds I almost ironed it on top of the whole thing...woops)
  3. That's it!
